IT job market growth shrinks as a result of hurricanes and fires
Almost 1 in 2 (46%) of companies that had to activate their DR/BC plans during the recent hurricanes and fires had difficulty. Version 8.5 of its Disaster Recovery Business Continuity Template provides specific guidelines on how to be to be better prepared for extended disruption events.
Park City, UT - IT job market growth shrinks as a result of hurricanes and fires - Janco Associates Inc. (e-janco.com) has just released version 8.5 of its most popular product, the Disaster Recovery, and Business Continuity Template. It includes business management guidelines for extended outages, ransomware preparedness, a revised DR/BC Audit Program, and 18 updated electronic forms that can be used to jump-start, maintain and execute the plan. It meets all mandated compliance requirements, including US federal and state, EU, and ISO requirements.
Janco maintains a database of enterprises that had to activate their DR/BC plans. Janco has found that approximately one-half of all enterprises are able to do so with no difficulty. M. V. Janulaitis the CEO of Janco Associates, Inc. said, “One of the most interesting findings this year is that most Disaster Recovery Business Continuity plans are not geared for the extended outages that occurred in the current hurricane and fire season." "Many plans have an assumption that once the outage occurs all that enterprises need to do is start the recovery process. The recent hurricanes and fires have proved that to be an invalid assumption."
The CEO added, " Janco has found almost Two-thirds of the plans have material errors in their plans and over one-half are not up to date. “ “Janco has concluded that the primary reason for this shortcoming was that paper plans are difficult to maintain. For this reason, Janco has added electronic forms to its standard template which can be completed via tablets and smartphones and stored in a remote cloud location.” The CEO added, “It now is easier to maintain these plans and to provide a higher probability of success in the recovery process.”
The CEO added, “3,200 plus enterprises in over 150 countries have selected Janco's Disaster Recovery Business Continuity Template as their product of choice.”
The updates to the plan include the DR/BC Audit Program to meet the latest mandated requirements that have been updated to reflect EU, ISO, US federal and US state requirements for California and Texas; IoT audit requirements; and Social media and e-commerce factors. The core DR/BC template now includes a recovery life cycle after a "Major Event"; best practices for backup; IoT back up; and all of the electronic forms have been updated.
