Employment picture grim for IT Pros

The IT Job Market continues to shrink while the number of unfilled jobs remains high

Summerlin South -NV - e-janco.com - Jreported earlier that the IT job picture decayed in October. That seems to be continuing with the latest job opening report released by the BLS. The CEO of Janco, Victor Janulaitis, said, "The BLS has delayed the release of its full employment situation report until December 16. That will be a week after the Fed releases its latest interest rate adjustment." Janulaitis also said, "According to the BLS data, the number of job openings for IT Pros moved from 203K in September to 173K in October. At the same time, the number of hires moved from 94K to 95K. Based on the data, it seems that companies pulled back on the number of IT Pros they were hiring."

We have estimated that there continues to be a loss of approximately 1,000 jobs in the size of the IT Job Market in September and October.Janco will be publishing its full set of findings on Substack (https://itmanager.substack.com/).
