Park City, UT - Only 25% of DR and BC plans include social networking according to Janco - Janco Associates conducted a review of 215 Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity plans and found that only 53 (25%) of them included social networks as a tool during the recovery process. As a result Janco has announced the release of version 6.1 of its industry standard Disaster Recovery Business Continuity Template with tools to aid in the inclusion of social networks in the recovery process. The CEO of Janco Associates said, "Janco believes that DRPs and BCPs need to include blogs, video, Facebook, and Twitter to rapidly spread information during the recovery process from earthquakes, fires, hurricanes, and civil unrest both here and abroad. " The current release offers a complete incident and media communication plan with a definition of best practices for news conferences and media relations.

The template is delivered electronically and comes as an easily modifiable Microsoft WORD file. The template is over 220 pages long and includes everything needed to customize the Disaster Recovery Plan to fit an organization's specific requirements.
